Engaging Family and Community to Support Student Achievement and Success
December 1, 2015
5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Community members for Everett Community College’s interactive community engagement event Engaging Family and Community to Support Student Achievement and Success met to explore a whole-person approach to support student success in college and beyond.

The transition to college and career is often a significant challenge for students, and we wanted to determine the best ways possible to support their success in college and in their chosen life path.  Ideas, creativity and thoughtfulness came together to help determine what strong family and community support systems are for our students and how we can incorporate them into the college experience. We thought creatively about how to ensure that all students, including those who are underrepresented, their families, and the community can have a voice in the educational experience, helping the College in strengthening our implementation of our Strategic Priorities of Student Success, Cultural Pluralism and Global Readiness, Community Connections and Partnerships, and Innovation and Leadership.
