Framework of Integrated Strategic Plan

The framework used to address structural and systemic inequities acknowledges that the work of improving opportunity gaps for historically underserved communities is effective when the college takes a collective responsibility in developing and moving its diversity, equity, inclusion, and antiracism agenda forward with the vision that this is all of our work. We based our plan on the American Council on Education's Shared Equity Leadership framework

Framework for Professional Development

We chose to frame our work through the lens of Inclusive Excellence.  This framework supports a shared equity framework in which all students, faculty, and staff have a role and a responsibility in affirming differences, as EvCC strives to fulfill its institutional mission.

Learning Outcomes

After completing the Belonging at EvCC course for employees, participants will:

  • Understand the importance of the course in achieving institutional goals

  • Be able to explain the importance of belonging for students and employees, and identify how you can impact belonging in your role at EvCC
  • Develop foundational self-awareness of social identities and their impact and apply knowledge to remove barriers and increase equity for students and employees.
  • Explain how unconscious biases impact students and employees and develop strategies to reduce that impact
  • Identify examples of racial microaggressions and describe strategies for interrupting or redressing them when they occur
