Implementation
EvCC employees from every department and program are working together to implement the college's strategic plan by executing the Wildly Important Goal. At the same time, we are building the knowledge and awareness necessary to execute our plan and meet our goal by meeting the opportunities and obligations of state laws related to diversity, equity and inclusion. Implementation began in 2022 and will continue through 2027.
4DX: The 4 Disciplines of Execution
Wildly Important Goal
EvCC will close all 3-year completion or transfer opportunity gaps by 2027. Areas across campus are developing their own sub-goals and scoreboards to assess progress toward their goals. Soon, this will regularly be shared with the greater campus community.
In Fall 2022, Everett Community College began implementing the strategic plan using the principles laid out in “The 4 Disciplines of Execution” by Chris McChesney, Sean Covey and Jim Huling, also known as 4DX.
4DX drives organizational performance by helping employees to:
- Understand EvCC's Strategic Plan goals, connect their day-to-day activities with these goals, and get a sense of fulfillment from working toward a common goal.
- Execute the most important goal while managing the Whirlwind of urgent daily tasks.
- Find direction and feeling of community.
Employees can learn more about this process on the intranet.
Implementation of State Laws Related to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
EvCC’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Plan is integrated with the college’s strategic plan and meets the requirements of SB 5194 and 5227.
In 2022, the Equity and Social Justice Committee completed these tasks:
- Administered a campus climate assessment.
- Planned and co-facilitated listening and feedback sessions.
- Designed professional development and training for EvCC employees. The Belonging course will begin in 2023 for new employees.
- Developed bylaws for the committee’s participation in Campus Council.
