• Please bag your peanuts separately for drop off

• We will accept any amount, large or small. Sorry, no hot tub covers, please.

• Look for the #6 or EPS inside the recycle symbol
• Bend the material - it should break and snap with loose beads

For Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Week this year the EvCC Black Student Union wants to practice Black healing and self love with a "Reparations Now!" themed Protest Music workshop featuring special guest and nationally recognized poet Alex Tha Great. Using art and expression as a way to get people to start thinking about reparations as a way to bring resources to our communities. This event is open to all with a genuine interest in African and African American culture.

Come and have a laugh, meet new people, and engage in an important conversation about mental health.

Suicide, self-harm, depression, anxiety, and shame are becoming increasingly prevalent in today's world. The rapid growth of social media is perpetuating the idea that we must constantly appear to be perfect and happy in order to achieve likes, followers, and personal self-worth. There is more pressure than ever to edit, modify, manipulate, and create an image or story of ourselves that will appeal to others. We can help eliminate this fear by exposing and discussing the human condition. When we speak openly and begin to accept ourselves as human beings, we can take positive steps forward.

One person who can help facilitate this conversation is Adam Grabowski. He has spoken at over 600 colleges, been named as college comic of the year multiple times, and even appeared on America's Got Talent in 2016. In addition to being a comedian, Adam now speaks about his depression and anxiety, introducing the #SayItAnyway Campaign through which he empowers students to talk about their own experiences and mental health. Adam's message about finding your voice and understanding you're not alone in how you think and feel leaves a much greater impact because it's a part of a comedy show.

Come and join us for our fun, exciting event: Winter Calming Affirmation! Let’s start this new year off on a positive note. If you could choose one word that is meaningful to you, what would it be? You will have the opportunity to create your own intention bracelet and hammer the word of your choice into your bracelet. When you wear it, it can be a reminder of the affirmation in which you are beginning this new year. The word you choose can be as meaningful and creative as you want! 

You have the option to choose to come in person and watch your bracelet being made live or make your request digitally and pick it up on March 7, 2022 at the Student LIFE office. You also have the option to have your intention bracelet mailed to you. *One bracelet per EvCC student. There will be two sign-ups, one for virtual and one for in-person. Open to all EvCC students, The Associated Student Body (ASB) Senate Meetings are held in Gray Wolf Hall, Room 166/168 and virtually from 2:30-4:30pm. The ASB Senate meets to discuss student issues and concerns at both the college and state level, as well as conduct business which includes the student budget proposals, reports on the college and Senate committee work, and provide feedback to the College Administration. Come provide input, share concerns, and gain valuable leadership skills, while enhancing your resume, college and scholarship applications.

If you would like to become an ASB Student Senator, you must meet the minimum requirements & complete the "self-elect" process:

• Maintain a minimum of five credits

Join us for the Looking to the Future Virtual Benefit. This is the Foundation's major annual fundraiser. It supports everything we do for students. At the event, you'll hear from students and alumni about how their scholarships and time at EvCC are helping them move beyond their past to achieve their dreams. Thanks to our generous sponsors, tickets are free, but we will ask guests to make a personally meaningful contribution to the work we do. Celebrity gardening expert Ciscoe Morris will share tips and answer questions about sustainable gardening. Morris gives advice on his “Gardening with Ciscoe” segments on KING 5 TV. “Ask Ciscoe” is a top selling garden book nationwide, and his most recent book "Oh, La La!" was released in 2020.

2022 African African-American Family Event
Featuring author and poet, The Smiley Experience.

The African/African American Family Event is a campus wide
effort to create a sense of belonging for black students, by
building bridges between current/prospective students and the
EvCC community. This year's theme is Hip Hop, The Language
of America: From an epidemic to a pandemic, how do we recover?

We want to use this time to look at how African American
people have advanced pop culture in the USA. We will also
take a look at how communities overcame the war on drugs
in the 1980s, as a way to move forward from the COVID-19
pandemic that we face today.

We will also have Caribbean and soul food inspired catering from Snazzy Eats,
along with a scholarship opportunity!

Did you know that the American Red Cross supplies 40% of the nations blood supply? The pandemic has caused the most severe blood shortage in over a decade, and now more than ever donations are needed. Prior to the pandemic students made up 25% of all donations in 2019, but now make up just 10% due to campus closures across the nation. 

Donated blood impacts patients all across the US including burn victims, trauma patients, the chronically ill, and those fighting cancer. We encourage everyone willing and able to join us in donating blood and give the gift of life.

SNO provides networking, activities, volunteer opportunities, and community outreach for the nursing students of Everett Community College. We also welcome students who are interested in nursing and want to learn more about the nursing program.

Trojan Men's Soccer will host the Cardinals of Skagit Valley College on Wednesday, Oct. 26th. The game will be played at Lincoln Field and begin at 5:15pm, following the Women's game that starts at 3:00pm. Admission is free to all.

The Trojan Volleyball Team will travel to Mt. Vernon, WA to play a league match with the Cardinals of Skagit Valley College on Friday, Oct. 28th. First set begins at 7pm of the 3 out of 5 set match.

The Trojan Women's Soccer Team travels to Bellevue College in Bellevue, WA to play a make up game on Saturday, Oct. 29th.  The final regular season game with the Bulldogs will start at 12:00pm. BC's soccer field is next to the gym and baseball field.

Brooms ready, Trojans! This Halloween, join us as we stir the cauldron and explore the world of Hocus Pocus! I smell people sneaking around in the search for the best costume and checking out EvCC’s many clubs and getting ready for our annual Halloween Club Fest. The most frightening day of the year is going to take place in Jackson Center on Monday, October 31st, 2022 from 12:00 - 3:00 PM. Join the fun and get some goodies and learn how to get involved on campus while checking out the tables hosted by your EvCC clubs while grooving to the beat of the LIVE DJ and enjoy making a halloween craft.

The world of Hocus Pocus becomes more frightening when we start our annual costume contest at 1 PM. EvCC Students, be dressed to impress and compete for some awesome prizes in our Halloween Costume Contest! Choose the category of your choice to win one of three prizes for the best witch/wizard costume, funniest costume and the scariest costume. The winners of each category will get a $50 VISA gift card! Every contestant will get a goodie bag just for participating.

This year we are also bringing an altruistic spirit to Halloween! The students who donates 5 non perishable items to the Food Pantry will get entered into a drawing to receive FREE MOVIE TICKETS! The club who donates the most food to the Food Pantry will receive $50 added to their club budget!

The Trojan Men's Soccer Team took 3rd place in the Northern Region and will travel to Tacoma CC, 2nd place in the West Region for a NWAC 1st Round Playoff Game on Wednesday, Nov. 2nd. The game will start at 3:00pm.
The winner will advance to the NWAC 2nd Round Playoff Game to be played at Lane CC, Southern Region 1st place. That game will take place on Saturday, Nov. 5th and start at 7:00pm.
The winner of that game will advance to the NWAC Semi-Finals at Starfire Complex in Tukwila, WA on Friday, Nov. 11th and will start at 4:00pm.

Trojan Men's Soccer advance to the NWAC Semi-Finals at Starfire Complex in Tukwila, WA on Friday, Nov. 11th and will start at 4:00pm against Columbia Basin College. The winner will advance to the 2022 NWAC Championship and play either Highline College or Walla Walla CC on Sunday, Nov. 13th. That game will start at 4:30pm.
The Trojans beat Tacoma CC in the 1st round and Lane CC in the 2nd round.

The Trojan Volleyball Team took 4th place in the Northern Region and will participate in the NWAC Regional Championships. They will travel to Albany, OR to play in the South Bracket hosted by Linn-Benton CC.
The Trojans first match will be with Linn-Benton at 1:00pm on Saturday, Nov. 12th.
Depending on the outcome, they will either play the winner of the Pierce College v Columbia Basin College game at 10am on Sunday, Nov. 13th or the loser at around 4:30pm on Saturday, with the winner advancing to Sunday against the winner of the 10am game.
First and second places of the Regionals will advance to the NWAC Championships to take place at Pierce College in Lakewood, WA on Nov. 18th - 20th.

The Trojan Men's Basketball Team will host Opening Weekend of the 2022-23 season on Friday Nov. 18th - Nov. 20th.
There will be 3 games each day. Teams participating are: Everett CC, Edmonds College, South Puget Sound CC, Grays Harbor College, Portland CC & Skagit Valley College.

On Saturday, Nov. 19th, the Trojan Women's Basketball Team will once again travel to Tacoma CC in Tacoma, WA to play a non-league game. This game will be against the Knights of Wenatchee Valley College. It is set to start at 12:00pm. Tacoma CC is located at 6501 S 19th St., Tacoma, WA 98466.

Rethinking Thanksgiving at the Diversity & Equity Center: A Unity Potluck

Join us in celebrating unity and discussing a deeper meaning of Thanksgiving from our indigenous perspective. Beverages, turkey, salmon and more will be available at this potluck!

The Trojan Women's Basketball Team will host the Developmental Team from Northwest College on Tuesday, Nov. 22nd. Tip-off set for 6:00pm. This is a scrimmage game and will have free admission for all.

The Trojan Men's Basketball Team travels to Longview, WA to participate in the 2022 Red Devil Classic hosted by Lower Columbia College. This is a three day tournament - Friday, Nov. 25th to Sunday, Nov. 27th. The Trojans first game is on the 25th against Centralia College at 1pm. Depending on the outcome, will determine when they will play on Saturday. They will play either CC's of Spokane or Southwestern Oregon CC on Saturday, at 4pm or 12pm.
They will need to win on Friday and/or Saturday to play on Sunday.
