Deadline for 100% refund for Winter classes |
January 8 (All day) |
The deadline for a 100% refund for Winter 2024 classes is 11:59 p.m. Monday, Jan. 8. To drop a class, log into ctcLink and follow these directions. Please note: Registration and refund deadlines may differ for classes that don't adhere to standard start and end dates and for self-support classes that have a separate fee structure. Other courses that may have different deadlines include online, correspondance, telecourse, and some language and arts classes. Self-support or non-tuition classes do not have refunds beyond the first five days of the quarter. A refund, if due, is mailed to the student's address on file or credited back to the credit card or agency. Refunds can take up to five weeks to process. Refunds under $10 will only be processed with a written request from the student. For students receiving financial aid, refunds may also be calculated in accordance with state/federal rules. These formulas are published in the Financial Aid procedures manual. Dropping classes during the quarter may trigger a request for repayment of financial aid money. |

Hey Trojans! We hope that you had a wonderful winter break. As you head to classes or check out campus, the Trojan Activities Board, also known as TAB, invites you to make and take home an air plant kit! Stop by the Parks Student Union Gallery space from 12 to 2pm on January 10th for a quick and easy do-it-yourself project. The kits contain a terrarium acrylic orb, sand, sprigs of moss for accent, twine to hang the terrarium, a themed trinket, and an air plant. With easy to follow step-by-step instructions, you will have your mini terrarium made within minutes. Air plants require little to no maintenance, just one soak per week! This is a great way to set the tone for a new year of balance between studies and fun. Hope to see you there! Tip-off with the Tritons will be at 5:00pm on the Larry Walker Court in the Walt Price Student Fitness Center - 2206 Tower St. The Men's Game will follow at 7:00pm. The "T" Trophy Rivalry was started in 2018-19. The Trojans and Tritons face each other 21 times in regulars season competition, throughout the year across 9 teams. Points are earned for wins against the other with a winner designated in the Spring of each year. Update: The food drive is closing earlier than planned, at 4:30 p.m. Jan. 17. Celebrate the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. National Day of Service at Everett Community Drive with a food drive to collect items for a local food bank in the EvCC community. We can all do our part with sustainable community practices and battling one of the largest equity gaps in the state of Washington today, the hunger gap. Dr. King believed that even though fighting for racial justice was important: Why does it matter if someone is able to sit at a lunch counter or not based on their race if the person is not even able to afford food to eat there? Danielles is a master educator, field researcher and public scholar working at the intersection of education, corrections, criminal legal reform, and adult learning. Emareena’s first book,”Building a Trauma-Responsive Educational Practice: Lessons from a Corrections Classroom,” addresses the impacts of trauma on adult learning, focusing on countering the impacts of trauma on learning as a way to guide students toward rediscovering themselves as strong and capable learners on a pathway to a joyful and compassionate world. Join STEM Club on 1/26/24 at 12:30 PM for a Transfer Fair Workshop in Whitehorse Hall, Room 253! Representatives from nearby 4-year universities will give an overview of the application process. Students will have an opportunity to fill out their transfer applications. The purpose of the STEM Club is to participate in and build STEM related projects, to build community within the STEM Disciplines, and to help students connect with their passion for STEM. The STEM club includes the Ethical Hacking & Cyber Security project team, a safe environment for students to learn about the inner workings of a computer and how to exploit their systems. This project team meets to talk about security and how to exploit operating systems in an ethical manner and on authorized networks, with the ideals of IT-280 ethics.

Open to all EvCC students, The Associated Student Body (ASB) Senate Meetings are held in Gray Wolf Hall, Room 160 and virtually from 2:30-4:30pm. The ASB Senate meets to discuss student issues and concerns at both the college and state level, as well as conduct business which includes the student budget proposals, reports on the college and Senate committee work, and provide feedback to the College Administration. Come provide input, share concerns, and gain valuable leadership skills, while enhancing your resume, college and scholarship applications. If you would like to become an ASB Student Senator, you must meet the minimum requirements & complete the "self-elect" process:

Hike to Explorer Falls with SEA |

You're invited to join SEA club for hike to Explorer Falls! This is a day hike of moderate length (about 5 miles roundtrip) and not difficult terrain (much is on an old dirt road that is no longer in use). Meet at the JCRC at EvCC, carpool to Explorer Falls, east of Snohomish. Interested students are asked to sign up by Wednesday, Jan. 24 by emailing lwild@everettcc.edu to complete an EvCC liability form prior to hiking. The Latinx Student Union (LSU) is hosting a carnival-style pie-throwing fundraiser to raise money to attend an upcoming Latino leadership conference. This event is open to everyone and promises to bring a few afternoons of fun, fundraising, and community building to the Parks Student Union. The pie-throwing fundraiser will be held on Tuesday, January 30 and Wednesday, January 31 from 12-2pm in the Parks Cafe. LSU board members have signed up to get pied at the cost of: 1 pie for $3, 3 pies for $6, and 5 pies for $9. Not only will you get to throw the pies at your favorite LSU leadership, but there will also be a scoreboard tracking the highest pie throwing scores! The people with the highest scores will win a fabulous prize from Buenos Diaz Coffee, the campus espresso stand! Come help LSU raise money to attend a Latino leadership conference and get to know the club members.
