Everett Community College is closed on Monday, January 2 in observance of the New Year's Day holiday. EvCC will open again on Tuesday, January 3.

You’re invited to join the Asian Student Union (ASU) for Movie Night featuring the Disney film Mulan this Thursday from 6-8 PM in the Jackson Conference Center for FREE! Snacks and drinks will be available for purchase too.

ASU (Asian Student Union) is designed to promote the community, cultural events, interests, and economic environments. This will help students feel safe and get to know Asian cultures from all around the world. ASU is a club for any student who has interests and questions about the community.

The Trojan Men's Basketball Team opens their 2023 League season on Wednesday, Jan. 11th, 2023 by hosting the Skagit Valley College Cardinals.

This game is set to begin at 7:00pm, after the Women's game against the Cardinals that starts at 5:00pm, in the Walt Price Student Fitness Center.

This year for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Week 2023 we are organizing a group of EvCC staff, faculty, and students to attend the Everett and Seattle MLK marches on January 13th and January 16th Annually, these groups come together and organize our community's largest tribute to the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Please fill out this form to let us know if you will be attending and if you would like to carpool with us. The ASB Senate meets to discuss student issues and concerns at both the college and state level, as well as conduct business which includes the student budget proposals, reports on the college and Senate committee work, and provide feedback to the College Administration. Come provide input, share concerns, and gain valuable leadership skills, while enhancing your resume, college and scholarship applications.

If you would like to become an ASB Student Senator, you must meet the minimum requirements & complete the "self-elect" process:

Did you know that the American Red Cross supplies 40% of the nations blood supply? The pandemic has caused the most severe blood shortage in over a decade, and now more than ever donations are needed. Prior to the pandemic students made up 25% of all donations in 2019, but now make up just 10% due to campus closures across the nation.

Donated blood impacts patients all across the US including burn victims, trauma patients, the chronically ill, and those fighting cancer. We encourage everyone willing and able to join us in donating blood and give the gift of life.

SNO provides networking, activities, volunteer opportunities, and community outreach for the nursing students of Everett Community College. We also welcome students who are interested in nursing and want to learn more about the nursing program.

The first game will be against the Red Devils of Lower Columbia College that starts at 1:00pm. The second game will be with the Chemeketa Community College Storm and begin at 4:00pm.

Hey Trojans! Do you need a break from school or work? Do you like to solve a good mystery? The Trojan Activity Board has just an exciting FREE event for you. Join us in Jackson Center on March 1, between 2-5pm and be a part of the CSI: Everett - Escape Room experience!

Teams of five people will have 15 minutes to investigate the crime scene and solve the mystery. The team to solve the puzzle in the fastest time will win a $25 Visa gift card for each of the 5 team members.

The Trojan Men's Basketball Team will travel to Pasco, WA on March 9th to participate in the 2023 NWAC Basketball Championships.  

The Trojans (North #2) first round game will be at 6:00pm vs the Community College's of Spokane Sasquatch (East #3) on Friday, March 10th. When the win (yes we are thinking/being positive!), they would then play in the 2nd Round at 4pm against the winner of the West #1 Lower Columbia College / South #4 (either Southwestern Oregon CC, Mt.  Hood CC or Umpqua CC) on Saturday, March 11th. 

The winner of the above 2nd round will play the winner of the 2nd round which could be one of the following - North #3 Edmonds College / East #2 Walla Walla CC or South #1 Clackamas CC / West #4 South Puget Sound CC. This game will be at 5pm on Saturday, March 18th. The winner will then advance to the NWAC Championship on Sunday March 19th at 4:45pm. 

The Tournament will be held at Columbia Basin College. The Women's 1st round is on March 8th & 9th, with their 2nd round on the 9th and 10. The Men's 1st round is on the 10th & 11th, with their second round on the 11th and 12th. Final Four for Men and Women will be on March 18th and the Championships on Sunday, March 19th.

On Saturday, March 18th, the Trojan Baseball Team will travel to Pasco, WA to play the Hawks of Columbia Basin College. They will play four non-league games with the Hawks - 2 on Saturday the 18th and 2 on Sunday the 19th. 

The first game on Saturday will begin at 1:00pm and the first game on Sunday will begin at 11:00am. The second game on each day will begin about 30 minutes after the first game ends.

EvCC’s Annual Students of Color Career Conference offers middle and high school students of color in the Snohomish County area a chance to learn from prominent local professionals of color. Through keynote speakers, cultural sharing, and panel sessions, students will have the opportunity to engage in discussions with experienced professionals of color and reflect on their own future career aspirations.

Trojans will be back at it again with yet another academic quarter! For some this will be their very last quarter before graduation! Since stress will be on the rise, TAB wants to help students start the quarter with some ease.

Today's technological society makes it very easy for us to find ourselves making comparisons to Photoshopped models and influencers we see on social media.  Aditionally, the number of people who have mental health struggles has grown rapidly in our society; most dealing with how individuals perceive their bodies and themselves. Recognizing the significance of this issue, the Trojan Activities Board brings Body Acceptance 101 to campus!

Written and created by Kacey Spivey, Body Acceptance 101  is an educational interactive talk with comedic elements that will provide practical steps to embrace your body while operating in a world that profits from our insecurities. Kacey is in recovery from her own eating disorder and shares firsthand what many people go through.

Join us at Jackson Center, at 2:30 pm on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 and learn more about weight biases, toxic positivity, and the symptoms of disordered eating, all of which are important first steps to body acceptance. At the end of this event, a Q&A session will be hosted by both Kacey and a licensed EvCC counselor.

Its purpose is that it gives experience to students in STEM through projects. We also go on quarterly trips as a team, to learn more about STEM in general. 

The STEM club includes the Ethical Hacking & Cyber Security project team, a safe environment for students to learn about the inner workings of a computer and how to exploit their systems. This project team meets to talk about security and how to exploit operating systems in an ethical manner and on authorized networks, with the ideals of IT-280 ethics.

The ASB Senate meets to discuss student issues and concerns at both the college and state level, as well as conduct business which includes the student budget proposals, reports on the college and Senate committee work, and provide feedback to the College Administration. We will be hosting the Dabke Jafra team from Seattle Washington. Dabke is a traditional Middle Eastern Dance that varies in style depending on the region or country. Jafra Dabke will be doing it Palestinian style! While you enjoy the dance we will provide traditional sweets like Baklava, basbousa, and traditional klega from Aldia’s bakery.

With the Trojan Baseball Team taking 4th in the North Region, they will be participating in the South Super Regional Tournament on Friday and Saturday, May 19th & 20th. The STEM club includes the Ethical Hacking & Cyber Security project team, a safe environment for students to learn about the inner workings of a computer and how to exploit their systems. This project team meets to talk about security and how to exploit operating systems in an ethical manner and on authorized networks, with the ideals of IT-280 ethics.

Latino countries around the world are filled with traditional dances, such as salsa, merengue, bachata, cumbia, reggaeton, zapateado, banda, and many more! Each dance showcases different Latin countries. Each dance holds a different meaning and embodies different movements. Salsa, merengue, and cumbia have similar foot movements, however, the overall beat of the music for each genre changes. Banda and bachata are slow and close paired dances, but come from two different Latin countries. Reggaeton and zapateado are the complete opposite from one another, although the music for both are upbeat. In reggaeton you use more of your upper body and in zapateado you mainly use your legs. Although each dance is unique on its own, all of them are guaranteed to help EvCC students, staff, and faculty release some stress from midterms! 

Latinx Student Union, along with TAB, wants to bring some Latin culture to campus. Dance Your Stress Away is the perfect event to learn some dance moves and try some new foods from Mexico and Colombia. There will be traditional snacks and drinks from Mexico, as well as some delicious tacos. To represent the Colombian culture, we will have some traditional foods, such as savory empanadas.

Make sure to come join us at PSU Lounge, at 2pm on May 30th and 31st. You will be able to try some tasty foods and learn some new dance moves!

Are you anxious and feeling stressed by your studies? Do you need to de-stress and relax before the final week? Come and join us at Index Lawn for Movie Night on June 2nd! The event begins at 9:00 pm, and the movie will start at dusk. We will be playing the film Everything Everywhere All at Once*, which won seven Oscars and 264 awards in total! 

Everything Everywhere All at Once is a 2022 American absurdist comedy-drama film written and directed by Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert. Grappling with the onset of middle age, a Chinese immigrant discovers that she can traverse across time and space. Teaming up with her alternate lives, the unlikely allies realize that they alone possess the power to protect the world from calamity, plunging them into the midst of an outlandish quest.

The month of May is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. Trojan Activities Board will host the movie night of Everything Everywhere All at Once on June 2nd to continue this celebration.

It’s that time of the year again! Break away from your clockwork routine and join us for a night of fabulousness at Everett Community College’s 10th annual Finals Are a Drag ... Show! A drag show is a performance which includes individuals impersonating other genders, usually through dancing, singing, or comedy. Drag performers and transgender women of color were seen at the front of the 1969 Stonewall Riots, which helped ignite the LGBTQIA+ liberation movement. A drag show is an overall celebration of art, talent, and diversity. Most of all, this event celebrates the right for individuals to be themselves.

Doors will open at 7pm so please come early to get a seat, as this is the most attended event on campus every year! You can grab a drink while listening to a live DJ before the show starts. Entrance is free, please bring your friends and family but be advised that this performance does contain mature content. Tips for the performers are encouraged and appreciated.

Join us for the City of Everett's Open House! Learn about the city's comprehensive plan to accommodate growth and job opportunities and share your thoughts.

The City of Everett's comprehensive plan is a "road map" to the community's vision for the future of Everett that is periodically updated to reflect changing conditions.

The plan includes goals, policies and objectives guiding public policy decisions affecting quality of life including how land is used for housing, economic growth, transportation systems, utilities, parks, and environmental sustainability, and more. As Everett's population grows, the city will be updating the comprehensive plan to layout the next 20 years: Everett 2044.

Community members are invited to join in this important work to learn, share ideas and priorities, and provide feedback.

The "T" Trophy Rivalry was started in 2018-19. The Trojans and Tritons face each other 21 times in regulars season competition, throughout the year across 9 teams. Points are earned for wins against the other with a winner designated in the Spring of each year. Max Minardi, singer and songwriter, captivates audiences with his moving vocals and acoustic guitar. With origins from American Folk, Indie, and Roots music, he takes the listener on a journey with his own interpretations of the genres. Influenced by the works of artists such as Paul Simon, Iron & Wine, James Taylor, Ben Howard, and Ray Lamontagne, he uses expressive lyrics to capture the feelings that come from new experiences and everyday life. Minardi’s first full length album, named “Stronger than the Earth,” led him to his international tour of England. With over 150 shows a year, he continues to perform across the Western United States. The album, along with the rest of his music, is available to listen to on his website. 

Max Minardi will perform music from his own collection as well as covers from songs you may already know and enjoy. As an opportunity to destress and have some fun, we hope you will join us for his performance at the Parks Cafe, October 3rd, from 12 to 1 pm. Hope to see you there!

The Trojan Men's Soccer Team will travel to Lynnwood, WA on Wednesday, October 11th, 2023,  to play Edmonds College in the "T" Trophy Rivalry. The league game with the Tritons will begin at 4:15pm at Triton Field, following the Women's game at 2:00pm. 

The "T" Trophy Rivalry was started in 2018-19. The Trojans and Tritons face each other 21 times in regulars season competition, throughout the year across 9 teams. Points are earned for wins against the other with a winner designated in the Spring of each year. The Clothesline Project began in 1990 in Hyannis, MA. The idea of this project was to allow each survivor of domestic violence, or the family of a person who lost their life to domestic violence to tell their stories by using words and/or decorate a t-shirt. According to the Clothesline Project’s website, “The concept was simple- let each woman tell her story in her own unique way, using words and/or artwork to decorate her shirt. Once finished, she would then hang her shirt on the clothesline. This very action serves many purposes. It acts as an educational tool for those who come to view the Clothesline; it becomes a healing tool for anyone who makes a shirt- by hanging the shirt on the line, survivors, friends, and family can literally turn their back on some of the pain of their experience and walk away; finally, it allows those who are still suffering in silence to understand that they’re not alone.” While the Clothesline Project focused on representing women who were impacted by domestic violence, we recognize domestic violence can affect anyone, regardless of gender.

It is estimated that domestic violence affects 10 million people every year in this country whether it includes child abuse, intimate partner abuse, or elder abuse. Domestic violence can happen to anyone regardless what age, sex, ethnicity, sexual orientation, culture, religion, education level, marital status, or employment status. According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Washington State Department of Health (DOH) stated that domestic and sexual violence affects 41% of women and 31% of men in the Washington State alone. As a community, it is our responsibility to spread and raise awareness regarding domestic violence that can happen to anyone, at any time, or anywhere. The Clothesline Project is a way to educate, raise, and spread the awareness regarding this issue.

The Clothesline Project Display will be available for EvCC students and campus community to view in Parks 242, the former Russell Day Gallery. The shirts displayed were created in the early 1990’s by local domestic violence survivors or the surviving loved-ones of a person who lost their life to domestic violence. The messages these shirts convey continue to resonate beyond the passing time. Participants will have the opportunity to create their own paper t-shirt to share a personal story or convey messages of support. These shirts may be added to the Clothesline Display.

Annie Landis, Outreach Outreach Coordinator for Domestic Violence Services of Snohomish County will be hosting an event welcome table outside of Parks 242 and will be available to answer questions and provide local resources.

EvCC Counseling and Student Success is available for current EvCC students who may need short-term personal counseling. Counselors are available by phone, video and in-person. The magical forest gets even more frightening when we start our annual costume contest at 1:30 PM. Eery contestant will get a goodie bag just for participating.This year we are also bringing an altruistic spirit to Halloween! The club who donates the most food to the Food Pantry will receive $150 added to their club budget!

Experience a traditional altar and bring a photo of a deceased loved one to add to the altar. Learn the meaning behind el Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). There will be activities, food and fun!

From November 1 to November 2, people across Latin America and the United States celebrate Día de los Muertos to honor their deceased loved ones. Día de los Muertos is a conglomeration of Mesoamerican and Catholic cultures, beliefs, and practices. It is a colorful celebration of the relationship between the living and the dead. It is a time to celebrate, not mourn. During Día de los Muertos, it is believed that the spirits of the departed visit their home and spend time with their loved ones. To welcome them, families and friends create ofrendas (offerings) to guide them home.

November 1 - Remembrance of departed children.

With their 3rd place finish in the Northern Region, the 2023 Men's Soccer Team has qualified for the 2023 NWAC Playoffs. They will travel to Portland, OR on Wednesday, November 1st to play a 1st Round Playoff Game with the Panthers of Portland Community College. The game will start at 2:00pm at Rock Creek Recreation Fields. This is a loser out game with the winner advancing to the 2nd Round at Columbia Basin College in Pasco, WA on Saturday, November 4th.

On Saturday, November 11th, the Trojan Men's & Women's Cross Country Teams will be at Chambers Creek Regional Park participating in the 2023 NWAC Men's & Women's Cross Country Championships. The Men's 8K race begins at 11:00am with the Women's 5K race to follow at 12:00pm. 

There will be approximately 150 athletes from 15 NWAC schools racing for not only the individual titles but also the team titles. 

This course will be run on the Sport & Event Lawn of Chambers Creek Regional Park at Chambers Bay Golf Course which has about 45 feet of total elevation gain. The Spring 2021 Pac-12 Championships were held on this course as well as being the host site of the 2022 NCAA Division I Cross Country West Regionals.

If you plan on attending - you should drive up from the south end of the golf course using the Perimeter Road near the Wastewater Treatment Plant, then park in the gravel parking lot closest to the SW end of the course.

A workshop to show students how to access the scholarship resources on the EvCC website and how to create profiles on The Washboard scholarship database. Laptops will be available so students can start working on writing scholarship applications during the workshop. The Diversity & Equity Center, the Writing Center, and PTK Honor Society will offer advice and help students get started on their applications. This workshop is important as a way to have students begin to do more effective financial planning while working on their writing skills. Open to all EvCC students, faculty, staff, admins, and campus community. Snacks and light refreshments will be available.
